Course Objectives:

  At the end of this course participants will be able to:

  •  Familiarize themselves with the principles of navigation;
  •  Acquaint themselves with the standards of bridge organization;
  •  Familiarize themselves with the composition of a navigational watch under the STCW Code;
  •  Familiarize themselves with the watchkeeping arrangements under the STCW Code;
  •  Realize and apply the importance of bridge team management;
  •  Execute an effective bridge team management and utilize bridge resources according to its limitations as aids to navigation under pilotage waters and other conditions of navigation;
  •  Enhance situational awareness towards critical situation during navigation;
